Handicap toilets, also known as ADA compliant toilets follow guidelines of the American Disabilities Act. The main different between the two toilets is the height of the bowl and toilet seat combined. Standard toilet heights range between 14 to 16 inches from floor to
seat. Handicap toilets have regulations that the heights must be between 16.5 to 18 inches from the floor to seat. ADA toilets are more comfortable and convenient for anyone with injuries to their back or have knee pains. Also, easier to use for people that have trouble standing. Many people that have the space for an ADA toilet end up installing one.
