The picture below shows a home sewer systems using a septic tank. Most homes are now directly hooked up to city sewer. Older properties are still on septic tanks systems along with cabins. Septic tanks come in all different sizes. Depending on the size of the tank will determine how often the tank will need to be pumped and cleaned.
