The picture below shows a home sewer systems using a septic tank. Most homes are now directly hooked up to city sewer. Older properties are still on septic tanks systems along with cabins. Septic tanks come in all different sizes. Depending on the size of the tank will determine how often the tank will need to be pumped and cleaned.

Gator’s hanging out in the sewers?
DON’T FLUSH YOUR ‘GATOR
Source for picture: http://www.vaguebuttrue.com/main/28
“NEW YORK, New York- Metro Water Works officials are again asking residents to not flush their exotic pets into the city’s sewer systems. “We end up losing a few sanitation workers to Post-Traumatic-Stress-Syndrome every year, after they open up a manhole and out comes a nine-foot alligator,” said Harris Goldberg. “Crocs and ‘gators may go down the toilet as little bitty things. But when our guys see ’em they are much bigger and really hacked off about having to live down there.”
Secret behind ceiling fans!
Did you know that ceiling fans work both summer and winter. If you live in a non air conditioned place it’s very important you install a ceiling fan or even multiple if you can. It is also important to have ceiling fans in places with central air conditioning. Not only can you keep the temperature higher in your home but you can keep the electricity bill down. The fan will circulate the cooler air throughout the room.
On the side of the ceiling fan there is a reversing switch. Make sure the switch is in the right spot during the different seasons. If the fan is not marked, just remember that clockwise is for summer. Also, always have the fan stopped before switching the switch. Stay cool in the months to come and hope these tips have helped.

leaking appliances
If your washing machine, dishwasher, garbage disposal or any other appliance
appears to have sprung a leak you must get it repaired ASAP. Sometimes a partially-clogged drain can cause an overflow within the appliance. If the drain is
clear, consult the appropriate appliance repair person. When replacing an appliance like a water soften or garbage disposal sometimes the cost of the repair is more then replacing the entire unit. Be smart when it comes to spending money. Call Ken’s Sewer Service a company that has been around since 1974. We pride each and every one of our clients.

What does it take to make a beautiful yard?
Designing a yard to be beautiful takes a lot of time and dedication. The very first step is to lay in the middle of your yard and picture what you want it to look like. Weather your property is small or large you can make it beautiful with planning. With any size yard it is important to make sure you have the proper equipment to get the job done the right way. When it comes to mowing making sure your blades are sharpened every fifteen hours will give you your perfect look. Keeping your blades sharp will cut the grass instead of just tearing your grass up. When cutting your grass it’s important to make sure the length should be at least three inches tall. Cutting your lawn on a lower setting will just mean more watering and harder to maintain through the hot summer days. Also, by keeping the grass at a longer length your grass will be able to take more wear and tear from kids playing on it. Making sure your spigots are working is very important for watering during the summer months. Keep you yard looking clean and wrap up your hose bibs after using.
Yards in general always look nicer with some sort of color. Plants and flowers really brighten up a yard. Read about flowers and make sure you buy the right ones. Some flowers for example would look nice in your yard but wouldn’t last more than a couple of months. I see people planting a lot of perennials these days so they have that space taken care of for years to come. Make sure in a shaded area you get a plant that grows well without sun. If you have extra space on your property to fill a patio, gazebo or hot tub this always a huge hit to the yard. Call Ken’s Sewer Service for installing or repairing any water spigot or hose bib. Remember when designing a yard you want it friendly enough for family and friends to hang out in with you. Making sure your yard look just right takes time, planning and hard work. Good Luck, have fun and remember to stay hydrated.

Rain-X
Be careful when driving in storms and on long road trips. Apply Rain-X to your windshields before leaving for a trip or even for the day. Rain-X best works when traveling over 50mph. When snow settles on your windows with rain-x applied it is easier to remove ice. I have used rain-x in the past and would 100% recommend it to anyone. Stop wearing out your wipers for no reason.
Camera Inspections
Have a camera inspection done on your sewer line to make sure you don’t have these little creatures…
