On November 26th, 2016 this year is a great day to support your local small businesses. Being that we too are a small business we support small business all year round but especially on this weekend. We may promote small businesses we enjoy going to and like to share with others.
So step away from the big box stores and really, truly, support your local convenient store, small tradesman, and restaurant. Small Business is what helps keep prices down to the consumer. If we choose not to use them except to pay much more.

Huge Massive Sewer Tree Roots
Like in any job, helping out a client is the number one task. Being able to say that we saved a client over $5000 is a very good feeling at the end of the day (and this happens several times a week). By the look for things you can tell this isn’t normal or maybe even suppose to happen. But guess again this happens each and everyday. It’s a nightmare if your plumbing isn’t updated or if you don’t have the proper shut off’s.
This issue could have been solved easily if they had a shut off that worked but instead they had to call the city at night for an emergency to shut the water off. It’s never fun to have a shower coming into your house other then through your bathtub shower head. The force of that water coming through the pipe was stronger then what comes through your shower head.
be careful and be on top of as much plumbing as you can in your home. Some things you can’t help but old neglected drains and pipes is something you should consider addressing before it’s too late.
Retrieving objects that don’t belong in sewer drain lines
This week our company went where no company went before. A commercial restaurant called for main sewer line cleaning and we ended up finding a cover top from a screw bottle in the main sewer line. With several technicians on site it took several hours to figure out how to retrieve this part from the sewer line, but if all else fails excavation will be the next step. With over 100ft sewer line the issue was in the first 5ft. We started off by cleaning the line with traditional drain cleaning equipment which means we clean with snakes ad blades. Once we opened the sewer line we flushed the only toilet in the restaurant (which is only used by the employees) with toilet paper and the drain line clogged and backed up right away. With a long bellied out sewer line sometimes the issue is later in the line but we knew this was much closer to the actual clean out. After opening up the line for a second time and getting drainage the decision was that we’d have to camera inspect the line to see if we could see a visual obstruction in the drain line before proceeding.
Once the camera was inserted into the sewer line and the water cleared from cloudy to semi-clear we saw an object shaped like a circle cover of some sorts. Our company ended up having to pull a toilet and several other clean-outs some of which no one knew about and eventually finding a way to pull out this foreign object from the main sewer line. Otherwise high pressure water jetting could have been a 3rd option before excavation.
The restaurant staff and owner we’re thrilled to hear that we retrieved this object and that no excavation and thousands of dollars would have to be spent. Our company works very hard each and every day to help out thousands of clients each year. It’s hard to understand sometimes that sewer & drain cleaning is a very hard and strain on one’s body but if it were easy everyone would do it.
This is just another story in our journey of many to come!

Commercial toilets seem to be the most powerful in the industry but that doesn’t mean you can’t have one at your own house. Power flush toilets can either be a Sloan or Zurn flushing toilets or a true air + water flushing toilets. Power toilets are louder but they don’t clog up that often like your own residential gravity flushing toilet.
Years ago 3.6 gallon flushing toilets went to 1.6 gallon flushing toilets. Yes, they sell toilets flush 2 gallons less water. So naturally they clog and block up more then back in the day. What I find even more interested is that on top of having only 1/6 gallons of water to flush they also sell toilets that are called power saver toilets. Power saver toilets are toilets that flush only half or less of the 1.6 gallons.
There are still good flushing gravity flushing toilets out there to purchase but you’ll easily spend over $250 for a toilet. Be careful and treat your toilet with respect. It’s not cheap to replace a new one.
